Welcome to Say it in Tagalog!
Say it in Tagalog (SiiT) is a cultural+creative platform that helps people (re)connect with the Tagalog language and Filipino culture and heritage — one meaningful word at a time — through weekly newsletters, creative workshops, and one-on-one SiiT Sessions with native speakers, all rooted in Filipino art and creativity.
Kumusta? Ako si Regina.

I’m a Filipina who grew up in the Philippines before moving to Los Angeles in 2013. As a first-generation immigrant mom, I wanted my child to grow up proud of being Filipino — and part of that meant passing on the language I grew up speaking.
I want him to speak Tagalog so he and his grandparents, who love him deeply, can continue to understand each other, even as we build a life here in the United States.
My passion for creative expression shapes how I approach parenting and language. From studying theater arts at the University of the Philippines to working as an artist, writer, photographer, and actor, storytelling has always been at the heart of how I connect with people — and language.
Over time, I’ve realized there are emotions I can only fully express in Tagalog. Some have direct translations, others don’t. But Tagalog just hits differently — it feels more honest, more complete, more resonant.
Say it in Tagalog was born from that experience — to help others reconnect with the language, stay rooted in Filipino culture, and deepen relationships with the people who matter most.
This is for the parents who wish their kids knew more Tagalog.
For the kids who feel a little closer to home when they understand their lola.
And for anyone who just wants to say, “I’m Filipino — and I’m proud.”
